As mentioned above, Newtopia is based on Han Sangwoon’s Influenza novel. The show will follow the story of Lee Jaeyoon, a young man doing his mandatory military service, and Kang Youngjoo, his engineer girlfriend. The couple breaks rather abruptly after arguing over being part for too long while Jaeyoon is conscripted.
However, that same day, a zombie outbreak spread across Seoul, and the two will do anything and everything to be reunited again. “Can two broken hearts meet halfway in the middle of a zombie apocalypse?” Prime Video teased as Newtopia’s official logline.
