Moana 2 saw the return of one of our favourite Disney girls of all time. The daughter of the Chief of Motunui, Moana is determined, brave and optimistic — in other words, a total legend. We all fell in love with her in the first 2016 film when she took her fate into her own hands and set off to on the Pacific Ocean to save her island with the help of the demigod Maui.
With last year’s sequel, which landed in theatres in November, we caught up with Moana as she set out on another adventure, this time, answering the call of her ancestors.
Missed Moana 2 in cinemas? Or, anxious to revisit the sequel? Here’s everything you need to know about watching the film on Disney+.

What happens in Moana 2?
In Moana 2, our heroine sets out on another voyage three years after her first, this time, venturing across the ocean after hearing the distant call of her ancestors from across the sea. Her journey takes to her to new islands where she discovers new communities of ocean people. And, of course, Dwayne Johnson’s Maui returns for the ride.
We won’t give away too much more about the dramatic ending or the surprise mid-credits scene.
