Where to Donate Clothing and Toiletries for California Wildfire Victims

The California wildfire that first ignited on Tuesday morning in the Pacific Palisades, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, has spread throughout several parts of the greater LA area, leaving many residents without access to basic necessities.

Cal Fire reported that the fire’s cause is still under investigation. More than 800 firefighters, with the help of fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, have been battling the spreading flames. Since the Palisades blaze began, fire crews have struggled to contain the 17,000-acre fire, which has forced thousands of residents to evacuate.

As of Thursday morning, January 9, the fire was mapped at 17,234 acres with no containment. According to the Wildfire Alliance, the Palisades Fire is already far more destructive than the second-most destructive wildfire in LA history, with 1,000 structures destroyed. Damage is believed to be in the tens of billions of dollars.

As fire continues to take so much away from California residents, local organizations and global beauty and clothing brands have stepped up to support those affected. Clothing and toiletries are especially vital in the first few days after destruction. Basic necessities like shirts, pants, and female hygiene products are some of the many things California wildfire victims will need in the coming days. Below, we’ve rounded up many of the places you can donate to or support.
