Lo and behold, Brown invited Bongiovi on a family road trip, which marked his first time on an RV. “We got in and he just fit right in. My family were kind of scared. They were like, ‘We are gonna traumatize him for basically 16 hours.’ But he loved it. He got out at the gas station, brought us all snacks, we all sang songs.”
Though that was his first family road trip, Bongiovi actually first met Brown’s father when the daughter-father duo picked him up from the airport. “We picked him up from the airport and my dad stopped at the airport side pickup. And as Jake’s getting in, my dad started driving as he’s getting in the car. And I was like, ‘Dad stop. Dad stop.’ And he like hopped in and Jake like swung his hair back and was like, ‘Hey, Mr. Brown.’ And was so suave, it was unbelievable how he killed it. And I looked at him. I was like, ‘Dad, you didn’t stop the bloody car.’ And yeah, no, Jake killed it. And I remember thinking, ‘Oh, if he’s gotten through that, like, that’s the hard part.’”
