Whether you’ve got a purse for every occasion or a single go-to tote, having a trusted bag can go a long way. Finding the perfect one, however, can mean lots of time spent scouring shops and sites. In our own search for a versatile everyday bag, we landed upon Baggu’s new recycled leather collection.
Although the brand is best recognized for its statement reusable totes and bright nylon crossbodies, this new line takes a more minimalist approach to Baggu’s best sellers. Released last month, it features four unisex models in black, brown, and beige colorway, with details like metal hardware, interior keychains, and branded Baggu charms. From shoulder bags to mini crossbodies, there’s something for everyone.
If being the coolest — or kookiest, depending on who you’re asking — girl at the grocery store just isn’t enough to keep you satisfied, this new collection may be an option to consider. Small Recycled Leather Crescent Bag (Black)
I have the original Baggu leather bucket bag from a decade ago, which I love and have used often over the years — so I was extremely happy to see the return of leather to Baggu’s collection, especially since the new bags are made with recycled leather that was headed to landfills. When I first received the small crescent, I wasn’t totally sold on the thick Baggu brand strap, preferring a more minimalist bag, but it did grow on me with use, and I appreciate how adjustable it is.
I wish it was just slightly bigger so I could fit a small book or Kindle inside, as it is, it’s definitely a small handbag meant for wallet/phone/keys/cosmetics, not anything beyond the basics. That said, I love the zipper style, and it was a great travel bag. I took it on a recent trip to Spain, and it was a perfect trotting-around-town tourist purse that’s way more stylish and elevated than a belt bag or fanny pack.
