After the explosive finale of The White Lotus season 3, fans are craving more of the series like never before. And though the Thailand chapter of the show may be over, Teen Vogue decided to walk down memory lane and reflect with the Thai breakout stars of the third season, BLACKPINK’s very own Lisa and Tayme Thapthimthong. The two played Thidapon “Mook” Sornsin and Gaitok, respectively.
In a new installment of Teen Vogue Firsts, the two actors took turns revealing some of their biggest “first” milestones including their first song pick at karaoke, what they bought with their first-ever paychecks, their favorite foods to eat when they’re back home in Thailand, their first K-pop idol they looked up to (which was more of a question for Lisa), and their first time doing their own stunts (more of a question for Thapthimthong — LOL).
Lisa, who made her acting debut on The White Lotus season 3, admitted that her first time watching herself back in scenes… she almost couldn’t do it. “I was stressed, to be honest, to watch myself… I couldn’t watch myself,” she joked, mimicking her reaction of peeking through fingers. “[I tried to] close my eyes.”
When discussing their first impression of each other on the set of season 3, Thapthimthong notes that it was Lisa who “broke the ice,” even though the Alter Ego singer says he’s always a “smiley” person. “I was nervous to see Tayme for the first time… because [I knew] I’m gonna have scenes with him a lot,” Lisa told Teen Vogue. “[But] he’s like this all the time, he’s like a smiley guy. I really liked your first impression.”
Thapthimthong on the other hand, was a little starstruck while meeting Lisa for the first time. “I was very struck, saw her walk in and she looked beautiful,” the Academy Fantasia star said. “She broke the ice with me so well, because I was actually pretty stiff… she was so friendly and bubbly.”
