Abrams and Mescal were first linked way back in 2023 via a tip from DeuxMoi, but rumors of a romance were all speculation until a year later, when the actor and musician were seen enjoying dinner à deux in London in late June 2024. The pair were captured out for dinner at BRAT Restaurant, where TMZ reported that they shared small plates. Romantic!
August 2024: Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal show off some PDA
The two were spotted again in London not too long after looking very cozy; at one point, Abrams teasingly bit Mescal’s finger while he wrapped his arm around her. That same day, the rumored couple also attended a music festival with Mescal’s Normal People costar and friend Daisy Edgar-Jones and her boyfriend.

Mescal was in attendance at the New York City stop of Abrams’s The Story of Us tour, and at the time, a source told People that the pair were “going strong.” Mescal was reportedly singing and dancing along to his rumored girlfriend’s music during the show.

While Mescal’s relationship with Bridgers was relatively public—the two attended the Met Gala together, for example—he had a change of heart and told GQ that he was no longer going to speak about his private life. “I’ve learned that there’s certain lines in the sand now for me that just are going to be impenetrable for the benefit of my own sanity,” the actor shared. “The speculation has been kind of mad for the last x amount of years,” Mescal said. “I’m not comfortable inviting any access into that part of my life. How I am in my private life is so precious to me because I get very little of it, and it might be public interest, but it’s not public-obligated information.”
