If there’s one person who we know will definitely bring their A-game to Met Gala 2025, it’s Zendaya. Since she made her Met Gala debut all the way back in 2015, Z has become one of the ultimate red carpet stars; she doesn’t just heed the theme — she consistently owns the theme.
But if you’re wondering whether Zendaya is attending the Met Gala 2025, Teen Vogue can confirm Zendaya is indeed in town for the festivities and is getting ready at the Mark Hotel, along with her longtime collaborator and style architect Law Roach. The real question is… will Tom Holland be with her on the red carpet? Here’s what we know.
What to expect from Met Gala 2025
As always, the 2025 Met Gala will take place on the first Monday in May, which this year fals on May 5. The theme coincides with the Costume Institute’s spring exhibit, which is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, with an open-ended dress code, “tailored for you,” which has a focus on menswear.
This year, the Gala co-chairs include actor Colman Domingo, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, rapper and entrepreneur A$AP Rocky, producer, musician, and designer Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour, as well as LeBron James serving as honorary chair. We also know that stars like Doechii, Tyla, Ayo Edebiri, and Usher will be there as a part of the host committee.
Is Zendaya likely to attend Met Gala 2025?
Zendaya was one of the co-chairs for last year’s Met Gala, which was themed Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. If you’ll remember, she wore not one but two gowns and two completely different looks on the carpet, first appearing in a gorgeous blue Margiela mermaid gown before changing into a stunning archival 1996 Givenchy haute couture gown paired with an Alexander McQueen headpiece to head into the museum.
Law Roach recently confirmed with E! News that Z will be in attendance for the 2025 Gala. “We are going to be on the Met Gala steps,” Roach said on April 8, revealing that he and Zendaya would not be walking together. “That’s going to be really amazing. We’re doing our own thing this year which is exciting.”
The Emmy-winning actor has been busy lately — currently filming or finishing up a handful of projects, including the third season of Euphoria and Christopher Nolan’s much-anticipated adaptation of The Odyssey, which is filming in Italy — and her full plate of projects for the next few years had us wary she might not be able to make it. Zendaya has missed the Gala before; she attended yearly from 2015 to 2019, but didn’t make the 2021, 2022, or 2023 Galas. But it sounds like she’s going to make a Gala stop happen this year after all, and we are surely in for a treat.
