Charli XCX kicked off her Brat era at Primavera Sound Barcelona 2024, and, in a full-circle moment, she will return to the festival to close it off this year.
While other festivals usually hone in on a specific genre, Primavera Sound, especially its original edition in Barcelona, is known for its varied lineup, which attracts music lovers from all around the world. Traditionally held in Barcelona’s Parc del Fòrum, Primavera Sound merges beach and city vibes from the early evening until early morning for three days straight, plus extra concerts and activations as part of Primavera a la Ciutat.
In 2024, the festival congregated artists from all around the globe, with headliners like Lana Del Rey, SZA, Justice, Pulp, PJ Harvey, and more, and headlining-worthy performances from Troye Sivan, Omar Apollo, ATARASHII GAKKO!, Balming Tiger, and many more. And, of course, the festival is upping the ante for its 2025 edition with Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Charli XCX — a.k.a. the Powerpuff Girls of pop — as this year’s headliners and a stacked lineup across other acts.

Who will be headlining Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025?

Thee pop trinity of 2024 has been tapped as Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025 headliners. Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Charli XCX have all claimed the top spot at the festival to celebrate the 23rd edition, and the festival is taking the memes in stride with a Powerpuff Girls statue in honor of the three acts greeting attendees on the festival’s grounds.
Charli XCX will be first, taking the Thursday headlining spot alongside fellow Primavera 2024 repeater Troye Sivan for the only European stop of their SWEAT tour.
Sabrina Carpenter will follow suit on Saturday, and all eyes will be on her as she will debut her new single, “Manchild,” just hours before she’s set to take the stage in Barcelona. (ICYMI: Carpenter debuted “Espresso” right before her Coachella performance in 2024, so we might be witnessing the birth of another summer anthem live.)
Last but not least, Chappell Roan will take on headlining duties on Saturday to close up the festival’s main three-day course. Speaking to the BBC in March, Roan said she “came out of retirement” to headline Primavera Sound Barcelona, so suffice it to say, she’s as excited as we are for her performance.
Who else is on the Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025 lineup?
The full Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025 lineup is “gender-balanced” and includes 147 artists in total, including Amaia, Aminé, Beabadoobee, Denzel Curry, FKA Twigs, HAIM, Jamie xx, Yoasobi, and more. Clairo has since pulled out and is being replaced by Wolf Alice, but FKA twigs’ performance is still on. You can check out the official poster below:
