Have you ever wondered what Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley ate while they were in prison? No? Okay, neither did we, but the recently released felons have been dishing all about their time in prison over the last couple of weeks. From their jailhouse arguments to their poor treatment of the prison’s employees, the Chrisley Knows Best stars are serving up all of the deets about their abbreviated sentences.
What were Todd and Julie Chrisley eating in prison?
Todd and Julie just launched their podcast, Chrisley Confessions 2.0, where they answered questions from “fans” about their time behind bars. When one person asked about the food situation, Todd’s answer felt surprising to us, and definitely to Julie.
“I had Chick-fil-A,” Todd claimed, before Julie jumped in, “Todd!”
“You ask me what did I eat, and I’m not gonna come on here and lie,” he continued, adding, “I had Chick-fil-A. I had Burger King. I had pizza.”
The list continued, “I had Culver’s, which — let me just go ahead and tell you, this is not an ad — but Culver’s is my jam now.”
Supposedly, Todd even had Olive Garden at one point, but he “didn’t like it.” When he wasn’t chowing down on fast food, he said he had a “chef” in prison. This person would make him “quesadillas” on an iron using pepperonis and pizza sauce he brought from home.
We’re not here to negate Todd’s experience, but we are here to point out that this is a totally different story from what he previously shared. When Todd was in prison, begging President Donald Trump for a pardon, he claimed that he and the inmates were fed expired food, with some inmates getting less than 1,000 calories each day.
Todd also said that rats and squirrels ran free through the food storage facilities at his prison. Plus, he told a story about a dead cat dropping from the ceiling onto their food, an allegation that the Federal Bureau of Prisons later denied.
So, did the prison trade their vermin for fast food? We’re not sure. What we do know is that poor Julie had a completely different experience from what Todd described.
“What I ate in prison, which was none of that, none. I had not one morsel of outside food for 28 months,” Julie said.
According to Julie, she “ate a lot of tuna” while she was in prison. She also made something called a “pickle wrap,” and we’re not totally sure what that is. However, she teased that she’ll be filming some cooking videos to share with fans. She’s excited to show off some of her newly acquired cooking techniques.
Chrisley Knows Best is streaming on Peacock.
