Laufey Brings Out KATSEYE For Surprise Performance in Los Angeles

Laufey surprised fans on Saturday night with a special appearance from Teen Vogue cover stars and powerhouse girl group, KATSEYE.

During night two of her stint at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the Icelandic-Chinese jazz-pop singer gave the crowd something a little extra by bringing out the very special guests. The show is part of Laufey’s A Matter of Time Tour, which started earlier this month and is set to end in Iceland next spring.

“I was thinking that I would perhaps invite KATSEYE on stage,” Laufey said to the crowd, which immediately erupted into screams. As all six members — Sophia, Manon, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae — walked onto stage, Laufey said to them, “You guys are so beautiful.”

As the crowd continued to cheer, Laufey said, “They also happened to have a song that I really love called ‘Gabriela.’ And I kinda want to sing it for you.”

Laufey and KATSEYE began singing the song as they swayed lightly to the beat. The group was dressed in different black and brown outfits — some with furry boots, and others with micro shorts. Laufey wore a white flapper-style dress, embroidered with beads and tassels.

KATSEYE Opens Up About Their “Chaotic” Friendship

The members of the pop group, who are set to perform at Coachella 2026, were the keynote speakers at Teen Vogue Summit this year.

KATSEYE and Laufey have collaborated before, when they shared a video on Instagram of Laufey singing an acapella, 1950s version of their song “Gnarly.” Laufey was shown in a video sitting with Sophia and Lara as they harmonized with the singer.

Much like Laufey, KATSEYE recently made an appearance as the keynote speakers during Teen Vogue Summit 2025 last weekend in Los Angeles. The women sat down with Teen Vogue editor-in-chief Versha Sharma and opened up about their “chaotic” friendship, being part of Coachella 2026, and even what eyeliner they all use. Their fans, affectionately known as EYEKONS, were then excitedly taught the “Gabriela” hand dance. Despite the screaming fans everywhere they go, KATSEYE all agreed that the EYEKONS have been nothing but respectful when they see them in person.
