Bad Bunny Fires Back at Fox News and Conservatives in “SNL” Monologue

Bad Bunny isn’t letting the racist reactions to his Super Bowl halftime performance announcement get him down. Instead, he’s turning it into a joke.

On September 28, the NFL, Roc Nation, and Bad Bunny confirmed that the Puerto Rican superstar would perform at the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. The game is slated for February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. While his fans rejoiced at the prospect of a Bad Bunny halftime show, others were clear on their feelings about having a Spanish-speaking singer take the biggest stage in America — despite Bad Bunny’s record-breaking success globally.

“Football is an AMERICAN game, we’ve been trying to kick out illegals for YEARS. This will just bring them in,” one hateful comment read under the announcement post, with many more like it.

On October 4, 2025, Bad Bunny hosted the first episode of Saturday Night Live‘s 51st season and kicked things off with a monologue that directly poked fun at the whole situation.

“I’m very happy,” he said. “And I think everyone is happy about it. Even Fox News.” The sketch show then played chopped-up clips from the conservative network that ended up saying, “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president.”

Bad Bunny continued his monologue in his native Spanish, giving a shoutout to “Latinos and Latinas… in the United States who have worked to open doors.”

He continued: “It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.”

But Bad Bunny wasn’t done with the quips — in true SNL fashion. He then finished the statement with, “If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn.”
