BLACKPINK’s Rosé is ringing in her 28th birthday by giving one of the most divisive shoe trends in fashion a very chic spin. If you usually associate the socks and sandals trend with tourists and walking-the-dog ‘fits, Rosé is here to make you rethink that.
On Feb. 10, Rosé took to her Instagram account to post a carousel of pictures in honor of her birthday the next day and included her take on the sandals and socks trend. In the second and third slides, which you can scrolling see below, the “APT.” singer posed wearing a buttoned-up black leather jacket and a matching mini skirt.

To give the look an edge, she paired the monochrome mix with white ribbed calf socks and a pair of sparkly Ava sandals from Saint Laurent. The Ava sandals by Saint Laurent, though now sold out and only available secondhand, feature silk ankle and crossover toe straps embellished with sparkly rhinestones and a pointed open-toe footbed with a 105mm arched stiletto heel.
With the inclusion of the sparkly heels over the classic socks, Rosé gave an otherwise casual ‘fit a chic and classy flair, resulting in the perfect balance. To keep the focus on the socks and sandals combo, the star opted for subdued glam, wearing her trademark blonde hair loose and in a subtle side part. She added a touch of peachy pink blush and matching lipstick for a flushed, rosey (because duh) look with a touch of highlighter on the tip of her nose and a thin black cateye.
Rosé is the latest star to cosign the socks and sandals trend in the past couple of years, and her effortless cool-girl take might be our favorite yet. Previously, we had seen Bella Hadid take the trend out for a spin (in fact, twice), opting for both white and black socks with statement shoes.
Sydney Sweeney also gave us a take similar to Rosé’s last year, opting for white socks and a slender black shoe, though she paired it with a much more formal look. We have also seen Hailey Bieber, who stayed true to the trend’s summery genesis, and Kylie Jenner, who gave it a spin with tights, also cosign the trend.
Sartorially speaking, if there’s one thing Rosé excels in, it is giving trends the chicest spins, so of course, we are taking notes for our next soirée.
