Nicola Coughlan was back in her home of Ireland to celebrate achievements in film and television, wearing a gorgeous black gown fit for a modern royal.
The Bridgerton star arrived at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre on Friday, February 14, for the Irish Film and Television Academy (IFTA) awards in a floor-length gown that’s anything but basic. Coughlan, who has become known for her style both on the Netflix show and beyond, wore a billowy dress from designer Simone Rocha, which featured two straps buckled at her collarbones and off-the-shoulder sleeves. The gown hung down to the ground and was cinched at both her waist and her knees.

The actor carried a black Kate Spade Sam Icon KSNYL Mini Tote to complete her all-black look. Coughlan wore her blonde hair straight down her back and opted for a smoky brown eye and a slightly neutral lip.

Nicola Coughlan was up for best actress in a drama for her role as Penelope Featherington on Bridgerton. Her appearance comes just as Netflix teased a first look at the upcoming fourth season of the beloved show, returning for another love story amongst the Bridgerton kids. Last season was focused on Penelope and Colin Bridgerton finally getting together, while season four will center on Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek. While Netflix hasn’t released the trailer yet, the behind-the-scenes footage showed Eloise, Francesca, Violet Bridgerton, and more.
In her own love life, Coughlan confirmed the rumors about her relationship with actor Jake Dunn when she went Instagram official earlier this week. The two were first linked in August 2024 and Dunn did share a photo of Coughlan on Instagram back in December, but this is the first time Coughlan has done the same. The actor shared a sweet birthday post for Dunn, posting a photo of him on Instagram Stories. Dunn is shown sitting on a chair on what appears to be a set, with a simple caption that reads, “Happy Birthday ❤️.”
