The season also follows Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari, Charles Leclerc’s win in Monaco, and McLaren’s win at the constructor’s championship. Critics are already calling it the best season ever, so this bodes well for a potential Drive to Survive season 8!

Will there be a Drive to Survive season 8?
The big question: will Formula 1: Drive to Survive be zooming back into our lives next year?
While we certainly hope so, Netflix has yet to officially confirm an eighth season of the docuseries. Nevertheless, our hopes are high.
After all, more than 6.8 million viewers reportedly tuned in to watch in 2023, according to the YouGov Sports Whitepaper. Even more impressive, 18 to 29 year olds made up 31% of the audience, while 46% were female. With stats like that, it’s hard to imagine Netflix giving up on the show now — especially if season 7 really is just as wonderful as it sounds.

In other words, watch this space — as soon as we get word on Netflix’s plans for the show, we’ll race over here and let you know.
What would Drive to Survive season 8 be about?
It’s hard to say because the 2026 season of Formula 1 hasn’t started yet, but we can expect it to cover the various 2025 season changes, including Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari and Carlos Sainz’s move to Williams.
Every previous season of Drive to Survive has landed on Netflix just before the next F1 season, so we can expect a potential season 8 to arrive in late February/ early March 2026.
Drive to Survive season 7 is available on Netflix from 7th March.
