9 Spring Makeup Looks That Are The Moment For 2025

…Ready for it? The season is finally shifting so we’re looking ahead to the spring makeup looks that are set to take off. The SS25 runway shows give us a taste of what to expect, but honestly, we want to know what the girlies on TikTok are getting behind.

One place to look for an early scoop are the global makeup artists who have helped to curate and coin the celebrity and editorial looks we love. We spoke to Nikki Wolff (better known as @nikkimakeup) whose clients include Sabrina Carpenter, Dua Lipa, Yara Shahidi and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Hila Karmand who’s worked with the likes of Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, Dina Asher-Smith and Joan Smalls.

Obviously, it’s a vibe-shift from the moodier aesthetic of autumn-winter with trends like watercolour makeup, butter skin and boy blush all making an appearance.

So, for the best spring makeup looks of 2025, keep scrolling…

Butter skin

We’ve already seen glazed donut skin dominate makeup trends, but this season, it’s the turn of butter skin. “The biggest trend I see for skin this spring is all about that buttery, perfectly dewy glow,” notes Nikki. “Skin should look fresh, light-reflecting, and effortlessly healthy,” she adds. But alongside getting your skin tint right, your other base products like blush and bronzer should lean in to that buttery feel. “I love using liquid or cream formulas for both to create that soft-focus, seamless finish,” Nikki explains. And Hila is also getting behind glossy skin. The focus for spring 2025 is “natural radiant glowing skin,” she agrees.

Boy blush

They say you can have too much of a good thing, but not it seems, when it comes to blusher. “Be bold with your blush choices — a bright red flush can look surprisingly natural and flattering when blended into the apples of the cheeks and slightly lower into the hollows for that ‘boy blush’ effect,” says Nikki. “Or, for something more playful, try a lilac or violet blush swept across the cheekbones and temples — unexpected, but beautifully ethereal,” she adds. We’re also seeing the rise of “blonzer” which brings together a pop of colour and a little warmth. Hila is big on “radiant, sun-kissed skin with a light wash of warm bronzer and peachy blush to welcome back the warm weather.”
