Netflix’s Ransom Canyon may have only just dropped, but we’re already in deep. A 10-episode romantic Western drama centring on Quinn O’ Grady (Minka Kelly) and Staten Kirkland (Josh Duchamel), the series follows the pair as they address a looming threat to their strong community.
As per Netflix, “Love, loss, and loyalty collide when three ranching family dynasties fight for control of the land. Their lives and legacies threatened by outside forces intent on destroying their way of life”.
A sweet spot somewhere between Yellowstone, Virgin River and general cowboy vibes, this series has all the right ingredients to be a hit. But what really caught our eye when watching the show was the dramatic landscapes that feature throughout.

Speaking in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, Ransom Canyon‘s creator April Blair said that Ransom Canyon is much more than just a town, explaining “It’s an idea. It’s the painful longing for your first love. It’s the burning desire to protect your family. It’s cowboys and lovers, grifters and thieves. Lust, deceit, heartache, home… Ransom has it all.”

Where is Ransom Canyon filmed?
In line with the book that the series is based upon, the series is set in Ransom Canyon, a fictional ranching town based in Texas. So while you’d be forgiven for expecting the show to be filmed there, you’d be sorely mistaken.
