When Jax Taylor revealed at The Valley Season 2 reunion that Kim Zolciak had asked him to dinner, some fans were as surprised as Andy Cohen seemed to be.
During the July 31 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy wanted confirmation. “Jax told me [that] he’s very close to you,” he told Kim, who was his guest. “He said you hit him up to have dinner.”
“Jax and I have talked throughout the years, but because of the divorce, we’ve talked quite a bit [more],” The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum said. Both she and Jax are currently in the process of divorce. “Yeah, he was gonna be in Atlanta, and I said, ‘Let’s have a drink and then dinner.’” Uh, wait. Isn’t Jax supposedly sober? I guess Kim didn’t get the memo.

During Part 1 of The Valley’s Season 2 reunion, Andy asked Jax who in the Bravo Universe he was closest to. “Who do I talk to the most? Everybody,” Jax responded. Because he’s just so beloved by the Bravoverse, y’all. “I’ve been doing this for years. So, the last person I probably talked to is Kim Zolciak. I talked to her yesterday.”
“Oh, really?” a stunned Andy replied. “What do you talk to Kim about?”
“She just asked, because I’m coming to Atlanta, she’s like, ‘Do you want to meet for dinner?’” Jax said. “So, I’m gonna have dinner with her.”
Even though she did ask him, they never followed through. Kim and Jax never did have that dinner date in Atlanta, she told Andy.
Although the friendship between two of Bravo’s most volatile personalities seems surprising, they actually have a lot in common. Each of them has spent over a decade in the public eye, sharing everything from their weddings and new babies to now, highly publicized divorces.
Kim and her estranged husband, former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Kroy Biermann, separated in 2023. Though they have reconciled and separated multiple times, they’re still “nowhere near” finalizing their divorce.
Meanwhile, Jax and his wife, Brittany Cartwright, announced their separation in February 2024, just weeks before The Valley premiered. Six months later, Brittany filed for divorce amid accusations of Jax’s physical abuse and cocaine addiction. Jax’s stay in rehab and their subsequent divorce proceedings were both ongoing topics of discussion in Season 2.
Hoping for a final decree “soon,” Brittany said at the reunion, “[Jax] called me the other day and said that he didn’t know if he was gonna get kicked off the show, so he was prolonging it in case he needed to get alimony from me.”
Less than two weeks before the reunion aired, Jax announced he was , in fact, leaving the show to focus on his sobriety and his 4-year-old son with Brittany, Cruz Cauchi.
