Teresa Giudice has starred on Real Housewives of New Jersey for 14 long seasons. She has since become one of the faces of this series, and her storylines have been so intense that filming has even (once) halted to wait on her prison-filled calendars to clear. As Bravo gears up to (hopefully) start filming for RHONJ Season 15, her continued presence on this series remains unknown. Her potential absence now begs the question: Could Real Housewives of New Jersey even survive without its resident table-flipping, meatball sauce-making matriarch?
Following Season 14, the cameras went dark. For YEARS, Teresa remained at odds with her sister-in-loathe, Melissa Gorga. Their feud overshadowed this series, as did rumors about bloggers, leaked screeners, and other dark storylines that made many viewers turn off their screens. Could these lost viewers finally tune back in, or would they flee all the more in the wake of a potentially fired Teresa?
Will RHONJ survive the last OG housewife leaving?
Let us be clear: at this point, no official word has passed regarding either her arrival or her exit for RHONJ Season 15. Likewise, no one on this cast has received either their walking papers or their new contracts, at least as far as the public is aware. However, many rumors are now suggesting that Teresa will not be a part of filming once this series comes out of its extended pause-filled period. Minus the rumor Teresa started, which states she IS returning to filming.
“We’re on pause right now. But I am going to BravoCon,” Teresa explained. “Yeah, so I just got notice about that, so I’m excited about that, “Teresa further noted. She then stressed, “If I’m going to BravoCon, you know what that means.”
Regardless, her statement has yet to result in a signed contract. So, let us examine a world in which Teresa is no longer starring in this series. First, yes, the show would still go on. However, what would happen with the storylines?
To answer, Melissa would not have anyone to argue with or avoid. Meanwhile, Jennifer Aydin will have to restrategize, seeing as Teresa was her BFF. Likewise, her exit might free up Dolores Catania from her typically seen Switzerland role, allowing us to see more of whatever Dolo has going on in her life these days. But what about Teresa’s husband?
Well, Luis Ruelas and Teresa resemble a magnet of chaos. From financial woes to private detective storylines, their narratives often teeter towards the dark side, especially when Luis makes threatening statements about coming for his enemies. But if Teresa leaves, Luis leaves, and their absences might either lighten this series or, in contrast, bore us to tears.
On this topic, many viewers remain divided.
Is Bravo setting up RHONJ for a reboot?
Andy Cohen revealed two months ago that the network was casting for new characters on Season 15. So, is the network gearing up for a complete reboot of RHONJ?
“We are doing casting in Jersey. We are actively there, casting and looking at the future of what that will be,” Andy stated. He also made sure to note that it is “a great franchise and we love it.” However, he did not clarify if his statement meant that one or two new faces might appear, or perhaps an entirely new cast altogether.
But according to Melissa, the cast will likely become a hybrid of sorts. In her claim, new and old faces will merge into one refreshed cast. I think I’ve seen this film before. And I didn’t like the ending, nor did many of the viewers. Here’s looking at you, Real Housewives of Atlanta.
“This is my opinion. They’re going to keep a couple, bring some new faces in – which I think is needed, by the way,” Melissa declared. But who will these new faces be? And what of the old, specifically Teresa? Only time will tell.
