Blue Jays’ Trey Yesavage’s Girlfriend Is ‘Still Crying’ After Epic Game 5

The girlfriend of Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Trey Yesavage is riding an emotional high after his incredible performance in Game 5 of the World Series.

Taylor Frick took to social media shortly after Yesavage, 22, set a rookie World Series record by striking out 12 batters in the Blue Jays’ 6-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, October 29.

“Still crying,” Frick wrote via her Instagram Story shortly after the end of the game.

Frick also reposted a message via her Story reading, “Trey Yesavage. That’s it. That’s the tweet.”

The Blue Jays WAG showed her excitement before Yesavage took the mound at Dodger Stadium for Game 5 via her Story, calling it the “BEST DAY EVER!!!”

Yesavage and Frick began dating in October 2023 after meeting as students at East Carolina University.

Frick celebrated Yesavage being drafted by Toronto in July 2024, saying she was suddenly “the biggest blue jays fan ever!!”

“Getting to watch you do what you love has been such a blessing but the biggest blessing has been getting to know your heart,” Frick posted via Instagram at the time. “You are patient, kind, and give 180% of yourself in every aspect of your life. There is no one more deserving of the good and happiness there is in this world. I love you to Canada and back l, I couldn’t be more proud of you ❤️.”

Two months later, Frick commemorated the couple’s first anniversary on social media.

“My little girl self would be smiling ear to ear if she knew she would have a love like this one day,” she shared via Instagram in October 2024. “If too good to be true was a person, it would be you. 365 days of being the happiest girl in the world <3.”

Yesavage commented “I love you more than you know ❤️.”

Frick was also there to celebrate in September when Yesavage was promoted to the major leagues for the first time in September.

“Just an amazing human who happens to be really (like really) good at baseball,” she wrote via Instagram. “Feeling like the proudest girlfriend in the world today. Wouldn’t miss it for the world <3.”

Yesavage’s stellar performance in Game 5 put the Blue Jays within one win of the franchise’s first World Series title since 1993.

“I believe in myself, I believe in my defense, believing in [Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk] behind the plate and believing in God, that he’d look over me today,” Yesavage told Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal on the field after the game.

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani might be in the midst of a jaw-dropping run that’s left baseball historians speechless — but to his teammates, he’s just another guy in the clubhouse. “He’s just a regular dude,” Dodgers star Mookie Betts exclusively told Us Weekly last month while discussing his partnership with Corona’s Playa Sounds. Yesavage added, “It’s a crazy world. Crazy world. Hollywood couldn’t have made it this good.”

Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters he was “blown away” by the composure of Yesavage, who started the season in Single-A.

“Thinking back to when we called him up, you’re kind of taking a shot to just bring more talent in, and you’re not really sure of how it’s going to unfold or what role he’s going to be in,” Schneider said. “I said it before the game, man, but the regular season’s going to be pretty normal for him now. He’s definitely raised our ceiling. I mean, we’re talking about a guy that not only is he performing well, but he’s handling a lot of stuff well.”

Game 6 between the Blue Jays and Dodgers is in Toronto on Friday, October 31. Game 7, if necessary, would be in Toronto on Saturday, November 1.
