Millie Bobby Brown’s cheerful red carpet reunion with “Stranger Things” co-star David Harbour at the show’s season 5 premiere took many fans by surprise. Just days earlier, reports surfaced alleging that Brown had filed “pages and pages” of bullying complaints against Harbour before filming began. Now, a body language expert claims their upbeat public encounter wasn’t tense at all, and that Brown appeared to be the one who initiated their friendly exchange.
Expert decodes Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour’s body language during reunion
Speaking to the Daily Mail, body language analyst Judi James said footage from the “Stranger Things” premiere showed that it was Millie Bobby Brown, not David Harbour, who greeted the other first on the red carpet. James said, “Millie seems to make the move to greet David in front of the fans in one clip.” She noted that Brown “approaches him with a mimed joke, holding her pen up in the air and appearing to pretend to sign an autograph close to his face while he responds by leaning back and roaring with delighted laughter.”
As per James’ analysis, the interaction showed “a mutual intent to show a playful style of cheery friendliness.” She described how Harbour leaned in for a hug while Brown placed her hand on his shoulder and smiled with closed eyes, “as though signaling she is happy enough with the moment.”
On the red carpet, James noted that the pair’s poses suggested professionalism rather than distance. She emphasized, “Their torso proximity seems close and his hand around Millie’s waist looks like a polite ‘gentleman’s hand’ gesture,” adding that Brown maintained a relaxed posture and even laughed heartily at Harbour’s remarks.
Despite the alleged controversy surrounding their working relationship, Brown and Harbour seemed friendly on the red carpet, showing unity amid the “Stranger Things” cast’s reunion for the premiere of its final season. At the event, James said their behavior suggested a mutual desire to show harmony.
