As November finally comes to a close, another fantastic slate of new and returning shows and films is set to hit streaming.

And this week is a big one with the first four episodes of the much-anticipated Stranger Things season 5 debuting on Netflix. Perhaps the television event of the year, this season will be the show’s last, forcing viewers to say goodbye to Hawkins for good.

Watch With Us’ selections also include season 3 of Apple TV’s fascinating Prehistoric Planet, and a few new films such as Mickey 17 and Flight Risk.

‘Stranger Things’ Season 5

A year after the events of season 4, we regroup with our friends in Hawkins, Indiana, as they face off with Vecna in the fall of 1987. Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Steve (Joe Keery) and the rest of the gang must search for and ultimately kill Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) after the Rifts open up in Hawkins. As the anniversary of Will Byers’ (Noah Schnapp) disappearance looms, the military arrives hunting Eleven and their mission becomes more difficult.

For maximum impact, the fifth and final season of Stranger Things will be portioned out on Netflix in three groups: the first four episodes on this Wednesday, November 26, three more on Christmas and then the series finale on New Year’s Eve, the latter of which will receive a special one-day-only theatrical release. While it’ll be sad to say goodbye, we couldn’t be more excited to see our favorite show get a sendoff of epic proportions.

‘Flight Risk’ (2025)

Texas pilot Daryl Booth (Mark Wahlberg) is tasked with transporting U.S. Marshal Madolyn Harris (Michelle Dockery) and a government informant (Topher Grace) from Alaska to New York City, where Madolyn intends for the informant to testify against his former crime boss employer. But while on the flight, tensions mount as it becomes progressively apparent that not everyone on board is who they appear to be.

A taut ninety-minute thriller from Oscar-winning director Mel Gibson, Flight Risk received mixed reviews from critics. However, the few who liked it hailed it as supremely dumb fun, with a solid premise and bonkers performance from Wahlberg.

Stream Flight Risk on November 26 on HBO Max.

‘Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age’ Season 3

Apple TV’s award-winning historical season takes a look at the many animals living in the late Cretaceous period on Earth and how they survived in different areas around the planet. From dinosaurs like T. rex and Stegosaurus to great flying reptiles like Pterosaurs and the sea-faring Mosasaurus, incredible CGI technology and scientific accuracy allow for stunning recreations of what these once-alive creatures may have looked like.

While the first two seasons were narrated by the great David Attenborough, Tom Hiddleston now takes over narrating duties in this third season. Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age focuses on a post-dinosaur world: the Pleistocene era, and the many megafauna that inhabited it and adapted to its chilly tundra, such as woolly mammoths and giant sloths.

‘The Ugly Stepsister’ (2025)

This much darker take on the classic Cinderella fairytale (and thus, a bit more aligned with the original Brothers’ Grimm story) follows young Elvira (Lea Myren), who becomes extremely competitive with her stepsister Agnes (Thea Sofie Loch Næss). Eager to gain the affections of the handsome Prince Julian (Isac Calmroth) and win his favor at the upcoming ball, Elvira will stop at nothing to make herself more physically beautiful.

The Ugly Stepsister reimagines Cinderella from the POV of one of the “ugly stepsisters,” and ends up a profound, disturbing and thematically rich commentary on society’s beauty standards for women and the painful, horrific pressure to conform. With a stunning lead turn from Myren and confident direction from Emilie BlichfeldtThe Ugly Stepsister is both wonderfully provocative and subversive.

Stream The Ugly Stepsister on November 25 on Hulu.

‘Mickey 17’ (2025)

The long-awaited follow-up to director Bong Joon-ho’s Best Picture-winning Parasite stars Robert Pattinson as Mickey Barnes, a desperate man on the run from a loan shark who decides to join an outer space colony as an “expendable,” in which he is frequently reborn as a clone. However, an error causes a new version to be mistakenly reborn, and chaos ensues with two Mickeys alive on the ship at the same time.
