We’re only three days into 2025 and Doechii is already proving that her star power is undeniable. The 26-year-old rapper just released the music video for “Denial is a River” off of her full-length mixtape: “Alligator Bites Never Heal.” The hit song recently went viral all over TikTok for its absolutely catchy lyricism and Doechii’s exquisite theatrics when performing the song. Now, we’re all hitting replay back-to-back watching the music video she just released for it. Doechii went down a 90s Black sitcom route for the music video and featured stars like Zack Fox and Ricky Thompson. The video is a play on the popular Black show “Family Matters.”
And while we cannot get over the music video itself, we also were entranced by Doechii’s makeup. Towards the tail end of the video we see Doechii sliding from a live audience set into a close-up mirror shot where she’s getting touch-ups. The product in question is the Urban Decay Face Bond Luminizer. Doechii is wearing the shade Half Baked. It is meant to be a lightweight, liquid illuminator infused with “light-catching shimmer and pearls for a soft-focus glow that lasts all day.” It’s made from a waterproof formula containing a nourishing dose of niacinamide that is supposed to help enrich your complexion while giving a golden hour glow for up to 12 hours. The Face Bond Luminizer comes in eight different shades ranging from deep hues to light pinks.
Doechii is a beauty girl through and through and is always creating trending looks. From her use of face tape to her connected straight back braids on The Late Show Stephen Colbert, she’s showing versatility in her branding and aesthetic. We’ve already known this but she is clearly the one to watch all of 2025.
