With fashion favorites like Kylie Jenner, Zendaya, Ariana Grande and more on the on the Golden Globes 2025 red carpet last night, there were many noteworthy trends, but it was the influx of side parts that has us anticipating a major shift in the beauty world. While this style was popular before, in 2020, middle parts surged in popularity, taking over red carpets, social media and more. It has pretty much reigned as Gen Z’s go-to since.
However, over the past couple of years, we’ve seen the side part slowly make its comeback, one celeb at a time. As early as 2022, some of style’s biggest stars such as Dua Lipa, Kylie Jenner, Zendaya and Hailey Bieber started to phase the side part back in by occasionally opting for one to go with certain looks. Kicking off the 2025 award season, yesterday’s event saw a major uptick in the number of side parts in contrast to the occasional sightings, perhaps marking a new chapter of beauty and hair trends.

Whether worn casually worn down or elegantly styled with an updo, the side part can add some flair to a look. Tousled hair thrown over the shoulder has a cool, effortless feel and provides plenty of volume. Both Kylie Jenner and Dakota Fanning tapped into that look. Auli’i Cravalho proved that it works for short hair too.
